Matt Morici, PT, DPT, Cert MDT, CMTPT graduated from Sacred Heart University with a BS in Exercise Science in 2007. He was then admitted to the Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) program at Sacred Heart, graduating in 2010. Matt began his career as a traveling physical therapist for two years where he worked in various clinical settings in Texas, Arizona, Florida and Virginia. While on the road, Matt was able to get sound experience in orthopedic and neurological outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities and acute care hospitals.
Matt was credentialed in the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) in December 2019. This structured assessment system is used to diagnose and treat orthopedic conditions through a systematic evaluation of movement and symptom response. By using these principles as the foundation for assessment and treatment, patients are often able to achieve rapid and long-lasting results through simple, targeted movements. This approach helps optimize outcomes while minimizing dependency on the clinician.
Matt’s primary objective with every patient is to form a strategic alliance that delivers the highest quality care while empowering individuals to become as independent as possible in managing their condition. A key focus of his care is equipping patients with the knowledge and tools needed to prevent future recurrences and maintain long-term musculoskeletal health.
In addition, Matt has completed MyoPain Seminars’ Certified Myofascial Trigger Point Therapist (CMTPT) training and credentialing, further expanding his expertise in the evaluation and treatment of myofascial pain.
Matt is originally from New York but currently resides in the Northern Virginia area with his wife and two sons. His hobbies include golf, exercising, video games and taking road trips but most of his free time is spent trying to keep up with his two boys.
