Katie Garland, PT, DPT, Cert DN received her BS in Human Performance and Exercise Science. She then completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at The University or Tennessee Health Science Center, followed by the successful completion of an Orthopedic Residency program. Dr. Garland’s interests are in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and pediatric physical therapy. In her postdoctoral training, she obtained certification in Dry Needling (DN) to aide in treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction which she utilized as an adjunct to treatment. Dr. Garland was introduced to the field of physical therapy as a young Gymnast, with numerous injuries and surgery her physical therapist was pivotal to her adolescent journey which has translated into her work today. She has also begun training in McKenzie’s Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT), an evidence based approach to assess and treat spine and extremity disorders and the foundation of Spine and Orthopedic Solutions.
Katie is a native of Boston Massachusetts, former former gymnast and softball player. Outside of work enjoys the seasonable weather Northern Virginia has to offer while exploring the with her husband, son, and dog. In the fall you’ll catch her cheering her favorite football teams to victory, Roll Tide!
