Dr. Canfield

Ashley Canfield, PT, DPT, Cert MDT, Cert DN, LSVT received her BS in Health, Human Performance, and Physical Education. She then completed her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Old Dominion University. Dr. Canfield’s interests are in outpatient orthopedics, sports medicine, and performing arts physical therapy. In her postdoctoral training, she obtained certification in Dry Needling (DN) to aide in treatment of musculoskeletal dysfunction and Lee Silverman Voice Treatment (LSVT) for treatment of Parkinson’s Disease. She has also undertaken all of the training for and is certified in McKenzie’s Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment (MDT), an evidence based approach to assess and treat spine and extremity disorders and the foundation of Spine and Orthopedic Solutions.  Some of Dr. Canfield’s interest, passion, and compassion stem from a history as a professional ballet dancer who spent three years recovering from surgeries following a severe dance injury.

Ashley is a native of Northern Virginia, former ballet dancer, and avid baseball fan. When she is not enjoying time with her husband and daughter, she continues to dance, practice yoga, and exercise.
