Dr. Altubasi

Dr. Ibrahim Altubasi, PT, PhD is a highly accomplished leader in Physical Therapy. He specializes in evaluating and improving muscle strength and function among elderly patients. His leadership roles, numerous publications, and track record of pioneering research would make him an invaluable asset to Spine and Orthopedic Solutions. Dr. Altubasi is joining Spine and Orthopedic Solutions after having been Head of the Physiotherapy Department and Associate Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Sciences at the University of Jordan. He served as Vice Dean of Graduate Studies and Assistant Dean for Quality Assurance. These leadership positions reflect the high esteem in which he is held by his colleagues in Jordanian academia.

Dr. Altubasi has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles in well-respected medical journals. He was also the recipient of several grants from the University of Jordan to conduct highly specialized research on the impact of aging on quadriceps muscles and the recovery of patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty.

Dr. Altubasi received his Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Jordan in 2003. He earned both his Master of Science and his Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences from the University of Pittsburgh in 2006, and 2012, respectively. He has significant experience working as a Physical Therapist in Pennsylvania when he lived in the U.S. including at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) Presbyterian and Montefiore hospitals.

Dr. Altubasi’s extensive experience and extraordinary abilities in the field of Physical Therapy helps Spine and Orthopedic Solutions develop better strategies to improve muscle strength and function in our aging patients and provide outstanding clinical care to our patients. Dr. Altubasi’s profound expertise in Physical Therapy, groundbreaking research, and innumerable contributions to the field of Physical Therapy including his high-level academic leadership roles and numerous publications make him an invaluable asset to Spine and Orthopedic Solutions. His exceptional knowledge of the impact of aging on the musculoskeletal system will ensure that our elderly patients benefit from the most effective techniques to improve muscle strength and function.

Ibrahim, his wife, and three children moved to America in 2024 filled with excitement to explore and become a part of the Northern Virginia community.
